Survival Sunday: Grocery Pickup

(Walmart)

What’s up! I am REALLY, really excited to tell you about how Grocery Pickup has made my daily grind simpler.

It seems that there are several different ways people approach grocery shopping. I was the girl who made a very strategic grocery list, in the order of my path through the store (produce, meat, non-perishables, dairy, etc.), so that I could push my cart at high speeds, and be out in 30 minutes tops.

When I had one child, I could carry out this mission with little added time. But when we combined a newborn with a potty-training 2-year-old, the grocery store turned from a game into MISERY. One of my friends told me too many stories about pee puddles on the floor so, due to my paranoia and pride, we would spend as much time in the grocery store bathroom as we did in the aisles.

Walmart pickup is the only way I grocery shop now. šŸ™‚ On Saturday, we plan our meals for the week, make a grocery list, and put in the order on the app. Monday morning, I let the kids stay in their jammies, and we do our grocery run. Boom. A quick trip to the parking lot at the local Walmart, and I’ve done my shopping for the week AND put away groceries by 9am on Monday.

The girls love it because sometimes the attendants bring treats. šŸ™‚

I love it because it is FREE, saves me at least an hour and a LOT of gray hairs.

It gets better though! Since we started Grocery Pickup, we have shaved $100 off of our monthly grocery budget!! Amazing. Going only once a week, holds us accountable to use the food we buy.

The only downside is that I do miss picking my produce. However, I’ll choose produce delivered to my car over hauling two heavy kids around a store any day. šŸ™‚
