He Keeps No Record of Wrongs

Reading thru 1 Corinthians 13 last week, I was struck by a truth in verse 5 — love keeps no record of wrongs.  Immediately, I was convicted of my impatience with my kids, particularly with bathroom-related accidents. Lots of mistakes I easily forget but those involving bodily fluids….I keep a mental record of those! In a few months, I’ll be training our youngest to use the potty, and I’m already dreading it–not dreading the cleanups, but dreading my attitude! Sometimes I forget that God is committed to my sanctification and I forget to pray about the big things, such as for help in learning to love, being kind, gentle, forgiving and understanding.

Anyways, when I couldn’t shake 1 Corinthians 13:5, I wrote a poem. Each line is a scripture in which I see God’s love for those who are hidden in Christ. I hope this encourages somebody.

——————————————————-

In the image of God, He created them, male and female, he created them
Love keeps no record of wrongs

He fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds
Love keeps no record of wrongs.

Christ is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power
Love keeps no record of wrongs.

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Love keeps no record of wrongs.

By this we know love, that Christ laid down his life for us
He keeps no record of wrongs

Even while we were still sinners, Christ died for us
He keeps no record of wrongs

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God
He keeps no record of wrongs

As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us
He keeps no record of wrongs

Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow
He keeps no record of wrongs

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts
He keeps no record of wrongs

“Behold I am making all things new”
He keeps no record of wrongs
